Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Reno Riding?

We are just outside of Reno, to the northwest. Once you book your riding lesson or package, you will receive an email with the address, instructions, and any other information you may need. Also Contact Cara by email if you haven’t gotten the confirmation email or can’t find it and she’ll be happy to help you out.

What should I wear?

It is important to remember that horseback riding is an athletic, sometimes dirty ;), and busy endeavor. Please wear long pants, preferably jeans or riding pants, a comfortable shirt/sweatshirt/jacket etc. depending on the weather, and boots of some type. Horses are quite large and they have a sense of humor. They like to check whether you are paying attention to what you are doing by stepping on toes occasionally. Please do not wear excessive jewelery, metal hair accessories, or inappropriate clothing for an outdoor mountain type sport. (like shorts, midriff shirts, bathing suits, sandals, etc.)

What about my dog(cat, bird, pet snake…), can they come too?

While we absolutely love animals… please do not bring your own. We have tons of animals here to keep you busy; sometimes adding a stranger to the menagerie is asking for trouble. Trevor is our mascot and he likes being the only puppy here ;)

What if I can’t come?

Please do your best to give us 24 hours notice. We are incredibly busy during the riding season here, and people usually are waiting for spots to open up. So if you can’t make it, and you cancel 24 hours in advance we will be sorry we missed you but very happy to reschedule or refund you. If you no show, or cancel with less than 24 hours notice, then you will not be able to reschedule the lesson but will have to make and pay for a new one.

What if I’m really late?

We understand that life gets CRAZY. If you are more than 15 min late for a 60 min ride however, you simply won’t have enough time to get your horse, groom, tack and ride a full lesson. We can’t let your lesson run over into someone else’s time. You will have to reschedule your lesson. If you are very late more than three times, then you will have to pay a fee to reschedule your lesson to cover the time slot we couldn’t use.
